Pumpkins 3/$10. So we got 6. They were nice big pumpkins that we had around for about two weeks. I was talking to Crystal's friend. Her two kids Red 1 and Red 2 had never carved pumpkins. (Some parents are just downright neglectful). Never. She said they always get them, but never get around to carving them. At my house, we will carve pumpkins, even if we don't get around to it until November 1, we will carve pumpkins!!

So of course, I said we were carving and I had extra pumpkins and invited them over. Their first carving - how exciting. We didn't have extra pumpkins, there was one for each of us, plus one for the girl that lives with us.

But I've finally become a parent. I know that. Not because I'll try to comfort a child as she vomits down my back. Not because I will step in front of scalding hot shower water so it doesn't hit my kid. Not because I laugh at their "jokes" which not only arn't funny, often they don't even make sense.

I know I'm a parent because the last few years I've not be very interested in carving pumpkins or dying Easter Eggs. (Two activities that are sacred) Yes, we always do both, but I've not had the desire to do it myself. I realized I am a parent when I began to get more enjoyment out of watching them then doing it myself. Yes I still help, but I'm not doing it for the enjoyment of doing it myself, just to watch them. I know its pathetic that its taken 10 years for this to happen, but it did.

So Red1 and Red2 came over to carve. We were carving 5 pumpkins. Thats a lot of pumpkin guts!!!!

Here we have a evil princess pumpkin (with a tierra) , a three eyed alien princess, and a spider with Happy Halloween-
