Rocks on top of Sandia Peak

The rocks on this mountain were very interesting. They were very smooth and looked like they "flowing" down the mountian.

There were lots of fossils in them. In almost every rock you looked at there was the evidence of little critters from eons ago.
There were also round things in them. I don't know if this was another kind of fossil (like of a tree) or if it was a rock, but there were lots of round things in the rocks.
There were also rocks in the rocks. Maybe there was a lava flow or something that came over another rock, or maybe it was sedimentary rock that had another rock in it. What ever it was it was pretty interesting.

There were very interesting rocks on this mountian. If you are a geologist (professional or self professed) please tell me about these rocks.

Awesome post. My daughter loves volcanoes. I will have to show her these photographs. Thank you!

I don't know much about rocks, but we have some interesting markings on the ones in Vermont that were caused by moving glaciers.
